The story of this film is very interesting, let’s take a look.
They Story:
The film tells the story of the relationship between a woman, Summer (Zooey Deschanel), who doesn’t believe in true love and a man, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), described as a hopeless romantic, who falls in love with her. Over a span of 500 days, the story moves in a non-linear fashion from the perspective of Tom, who goes from ecstatic giddiness one moment, indulging in a fantasy song and dance sequence at one point, to crippling depression the next. It features two songs (“Us” and “Hero”) by Regina Spektor, and “Sweet Disposition” by Melbourne-based band The Temper Trap.
You see, it’s very meaningful and interesting, isn’t it?
The number one reason I watched this film is that I am a big fan of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Some people say: “Joseph Gordon-Levitt is such a talent to be cherished? Why is this guy so much more on my respect level than all these other young actors working in Hollywood. Not only does Gordon- Levitt pick movies that have more emphasis in being a good story than being heavily promoted, he is willing to play characters that don’t necessarily make himself look like a superstar. He is brave enough to play a part in which he would have to be very insecure in front of massive audiences. For that I commend him.” [via: IMDb]

What did critics said about this film? Let’s have a look.
Critics Reviews:
Boston Globe, Ty Burr
“…the movie charmed me enough to send me out smiling, and I can see younger filmgoers taking it very much to heart.”
E! Online, Peter Paras
“The banter can be a bit self-conscious, but it’s hard not to find most of it charming…”
Cool as a melty Creamsicle on a hot summer day and a sweet surprise in the middle of blockbuster season. Gordon-Levitt’s performance is as starmaking as John Cusack’s in the romcom opus, Say Anything.
What saves 500 Days from terminal shallowness are Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel, who are not the usual picture-perfect androids peopling these young-love idylls.
