Now a very popular old movie is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, many people are watching it and talking about it, so I think we should discuss it too today. So here we go.

Wikipedia introduced Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets like this:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a 2002 fantasy adventure film, and the second film in the popular Harry Potter series, based on the novel by J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The film was released on 15 November 2002 in the UK and North America and 28 November in AUS (exactly three weeks after the death of Richard Harris, who portrayed Albus Dumbledore in the first film). Returning to work on the film were director Chris Columbus, screenwriter Steven Kloves, and producer David Heyman.

Most of the major cast and crew from Philosopher’s Stone (also known as Sorcerer’s Stone) returned for Chamber of Secrets, including child stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. However, it was the last appearance by Richard Harris as Dumbledore (and also Harris’s last film) and the last Harry Potter film directed by Columbus. New key actors included Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart and Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy.

The story is very interesting, let’s take a look.

The Story:

Forced to spend his summer holidays with his muggle relations, Harry Potter gets a real shock when he gets a surprise visitor: Dobby the house-elf, who warns Harry Potter against returning to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. Harry decides to ignore Dobby’s warning and continues with his pre-arranged schedule. But at Hogwarts, strange and terrible things are indeed happening: Harry is suddenly hearing mysterious voices from inside the walls, muggle-born students are being attacked, and a message scrawled on the wall in blood puts everyone on his/her guard – “The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies Of The Heir, Beware” . [via: IMDb]

Cast:

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Now entering his second year at Hogwarts, Harry faces the accusation that he is the Heir of Slytherin, and responsible for the attacks on fellow students.

Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, one of Harry’s best friends. He takes his father’s flying car to Hogwarts, after he and Harry miss the Hogwarts Express.

Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, one of Harry’s best friends. She investigates what is really the cause of the attacks on students, only to be petrified herself.

Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore, the Hogwarts headmaster and one of the greatest wizards of the age. He is removed from his position as the attacks increase. (This was to be Richard Harris’ final film.)

Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart, the incredibly vain and famous Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. He is secretly completely useless, and faked all of his achievements.

Emma Watson is my favorite, this is the number reason I love this film. I love her movies.

What critics reviewed this film? Let’s take a look.

The second film to spring forth from J.K. Rowling’s popular series of children’s books goes a long way towards amping up the dramatic tension promised by the source material.

It’s a depressing reality to face, but the second of J.K. Rowling’s boy-wizard books was the least interesting read… and hasn’t fared much better on film.

The franchise is safe! Columbus’ second alchemical movie ups the thrill quotient to satisfy the faithful. There’s more action, and it’s scarier.

The most popular movie these days is Angels & Demons (2009), more and more people are talking about it and watching it. So let’s discuss it too.

Wikipedia describes the movie Angels & Demons (2009) like this:

Angels & Demons is a 2009 American film adaptation of Dan Brown’s eponymous novel. It is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, another Brown film adaptation, even though the novel Angels & Demons was published first and takes place before the novel The Da Vinci Code. Filming took place in Rome, Italy, and the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. Tom Hanks reprises the lead role of Robert Langdon, while director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer, and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman also returned.

Angels & Demons was first released on 15 May 2009 in USA, I watched it, and I have to say it is a very wonderful film this year, no wonder so many people are talking about it.

Movie Shortcut:

Runtime: 2 mins 18 secs

Genre: Action/Adventure

Theatrical Release:May 15, 2009 Wide

Box Office: $104,913,439

The Story Summary:

When Robert Langdon discovers evidence of the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati — the most powerful underground organization in history — he also faces a deadly threat to the existence of the secret organization’s most despised enemy: the Catholic Church. When Langdon learns that the clock is ticking on an unstoppable Illuminati time bomb, he jets to Rome, where he joins forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and enigmatic Italian scientist. Embarking on a nonstop hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals and even to the heart of the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra will follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that mark the Vatican’s only hope for survival. [via: Yahoo! Movies]

The movie started with the death of the Pope and is followed by the theft of a canister containing Anti-matter. From there, a Harvard symbologist, Robert Langdon takes over. The story is well written by Dan Brown, which never lost the attention of the reader in its novel form. Akiva Goldsman did a fine job in adapting the story as a screenplay. There was enough of wit thrown in extremely fast paced story making sure that you will not get bored. This is why I said you should watch it.

This is a very exciting story, isn’t it? The story is from the Angels & Demons Novel. I like such movies, they are further than ordinary films. I mean, this kind of films are more meaningful, we can learn many things from them, this is why I love this film.

Now let’s take a look at what others commented this movie.

Watcher Comments:

It’s enjoyable, toothless, and a disposable smartypants hero movie. These are rare enough that they deserve attention.

At one point Hanks can be glimpsed gasping for air, mid-endless-sentence. Has there ever been a flatter movie character played by a more innately likable star?

The chief problem is that the literary-historical elements of the story that so root it in detail are the same things that work against the film’s time-crunch structure, which doesn’t play convincingly.

At one point Langdon bellows, “I need a map showing all the churches in Rome!” which is a hilarious bit of dialogue because you might as well demand a map showing all the bars in Milwaukee. Then again, that would lead to a more entertaining movie

As one of the most popular films from 2008 to 2009, The Reader absolutely deserves my high attention. I watched it and felt it was very meaningful. No, I didn’t say it’s exciting, although it does have some exciting scenes. The meaning of this movie is leads us to think some history events more rationally. This is why I want to discuss it here today.

According to Wikipedia:

The Reader is a 2008 drama film based on the 1995 German novel of the same name by Bernhard Schlink. The film adaptation was written by David Hare and directed by Stephen Daldry. Ralph Fiennes and Kate Winslet star along with the young actor David Kross. It was the last film for producers Anthony Minghella and Sydney Pollack, both of whom died before it was released. Production began in Germany in September 2007, and the film opened in limited release on 10 December 2008.

It tells the story of Michael Berg, a German lawyer who as a teenager in the late 1950s had an affair with an older woman, Hanna Schmitz, who then disappeared only to resurface years later as one of the defendants in a war crimes trial stemming from her actions as a concentration camp guard late in the war. Michael realizes that Hanna is keeping a personal secret she believes is worse than her Nazi past, a secret that — paradoxically enough — could help her at the trial.
Winslet and David Kross, who plays the young Michael, have received much praise for their performances. Winslet received praise and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress, BAFTA Award for Best Actress, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress and the Academy Award for Best Actress at the 81st Academy Awards for her role in the film. The film has also been nominated for several other major awards.

This is a very attractive story, and it is controversial. How should we treat such history tragedy? This is a very serious question. The author tried to find an answer for us, but I don’t believe all of us will agree. So the meaning of this movie is to guide us to think, it’s not providing us an answer.

The New York Times reviewed: “The Reader is a scrupulously tasteful — more on that word tasteful later — film about an erotic affair that turns to love. It is also, more obliquely, about the Holocaust and the generation of Germans who came of age after that catastrophe. This, at any rate, is what the film would have us believe it’s about, though mostly it involves Kate Winslet, her taut belly and limbs gleaming under the caressing light, deflowering a very surprised-looking teenage boy who grows up to become a depressed-looking Ralph Fiennes.”

I totally agree with such opinion.

Main Cast:

Ralph Fiennes

David Kross

Kate Winslet

Now let’s take a look at what other people said about this film:

This is not a movie you forget. The moral difficulty is of knowing her before you know her past and before you understand why she made her decisions.

An engrossing experience until about the last third – then the slow moving film slows to a crawl with tedious, unnecessary “back story” business and too much concentration on…

It’s often very difficult to create a movie worthy of a great novel, but I believe this movie does its source material proud.

Iron Man is a wonderful film in 2008, it is one of the most popular films being talked by many people. Here we are going to talk about it.

According to Wikipedia:

Iron Man is a 2008 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and master engineer who builds a powered exoskeleton and becomes the technologically advanced superhero, Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his personal assistant Pepper Potts, Terrence Howard plays military liaison James Rhodes and Jeff Bridges plays Stark Industries executive Obadiah Stane.

Iron Man belongs to those exciting films, people who are seeking exciting experience will love it very much, you will be shocked by its wonderful scene and amazing sound if you watch it in cinema. Actually, good film should be watched in cinema, you can’t feel very good on your PC.

“Iron Man” is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). It has a lot of action violence, none of it especially graphic or gruesome. Also, Iron Man has sex, and not with the suit on. But not completely naked either.

The plot of this movie is not complicated, but it is very interesting, here it is: When wealthy industrialist Tony Stark is forced to build an armored suit after a life-threatening incident, he ultimately decides to use its technology to fight against evil.

Here are some great quotes from this movie, let’s enjoy:

Tony Stark: I feel like you’re driving me to court martial. This is crazy. What did I do? I feel like you’re gonna pull over and snuff me. What, you’re not allowed to talk? Hey, Forest…
Jimmy: We can talk, sir.
Tony Stark: Oh, I see. So it’s personal.
Ramirez: No, you intimidate them.
Tony Stark: Good God, you’re a woman! I honestly, I couldn’t have called that. I mean, I would apologize, but isn’t that what we’re going for here? I thought of you as a soldier first.
Ramirez: I’m an airman.
Tony Stark: Well you have actually excellent bone structure there. I’m kinda having a hard time not looking at you now. Is that weird?

Very cool dialogs, right? I like them!

Now let’s take a look at what other people say about this film:

As a movie based off a comic book, I feel this is definitely one of the better ones in this field. Even if you have no idea what Iron Man is about besides a man in a “gold-titanium allow suit” fighting off bad guys, the crew (Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, and the rest that worked on this movie) definitely helped you with the background of Tony Stark and his way on to becoming Iron Man while keeping it PG-13 for the kiddies. (Such as leaving out Stark’s fight with alcoholism and kept the babe-magnet idea down to a minimum, I’d say). I’d have to agree with you though, if you look at the overall plot of the movie, it’s just like every comic book gone movie. But at least this one had more depth than the others. You get more pulled into his life from making weapons to saving the world in a suite of armor.

Downey’s acting was superb in this movie. You could definitely feel that he was Tony Stark. The only issue I had with his acting is when he was on the plane and was supposed to be drunk. I felt when he was acting drunk, it seemed way too fake, too 2-dimensional and you could tell he was just kind of rambling. I think Terrence Howard did an excellent job as the sidekick to Downey, really didn’t have any problems with him. Gwyneth Paltrow was perfect to play Pepper Potts as well, felt she flowed well with Downey in their ‘love connection’. She was sassy in an intellectual way; for instance, when she told the reporter that she occasionally takes out the trash.

Overall, as you can tell, I was very happy about this movie. This is the only movie that pulled me into comics, when I was in Virginia I actually bought a book about the history of Iron Man and the people that made it. I can not wait to see what Iron Man does in the next movie, maybe he’ll fight against The Hulk in his Hulkbuster armor! Who knows? But I’ll definitely be in the movie theater to find out.
— john.s.guar

Fortunately, I’m not one easily influenced by some users’ negative comments. These people should try to restrain their bias opinions and try to review the movies as neutrally as possible.

Now I would say that this movie has slow but steady momentum-building. It is a movie for people who has never known Iron Man in the comic series. The characters are given names and personalities, true to their comic book counterparts.

Acting was among the best comic-turn movie I have seen so far. Effects were believable and not overwhelmingly CGI, except for the tank scene.

So what do you think about Iron Man? Have you watched it?

Today’s topic is A Walk to Remember, this is an old but classic film produced in 2007. I believe it is one of the most meaningful films I’ve watched these years. I have to say “Oh, my god’s pretty daughter, I love it like crazy!”. So I’m super glad to share it with you guys here.

According to Wikipedia:

A Walk to Remember is a 2002 romance film based on the 1999 romance novel with the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The movie stars pop singer Mandy Moore and Shane West. The movie was directed by Adam Shankman and produced by Denise DiNovi and Hunt Lowry for Warner Bros.. The novel, written by Sparks, is set in the 1950s while the film is set in present day.

This is a romance film, and the story is not complicated, but it is really touching. I’m not shy to tell you that I was crying when I watched it. Yeah, it is worth my tears.

Here is the plot: Each spring in the little port town of Beaufort, North Carolina, when the wind smells of pine and salt and the sea, Landon Carter remembers his senior year at Beaufort High and Jamie Sullivan, the girl who changed his life… Serious and conservative, Jamie is the daughter of the town’s Baptist minister and not afraid of letting people know that her faith is the most important part of her life, even if it cost her some friends. After a harmless prank goes terribly wrong, Landon is forced to tutor a young student at a poor school and participate in the Drama Club’s spring play – two activities the principal hopes will teach him some humility. They also happen to throw him into close contact with Jamie. Clearly in over his head, Landon is forced to ask her for help. Soon, against his own expectations, Landon finds himself falling in love with this outwardly plain girl who possesses a passion for life he never imagined possible.

You see? A touching love story, if you are not touched by it, I have to say you are a rock.

Love is like the wind. You cannot see it but you can always feel it. This is what we can learn from A Walk to Remember . It is also the tagline of this film. Very poetic, right?

Cast:

Yes Man (2008) is a very interesting film, I watched it and I am feeling much better in my life, I mean, it changed my life, kind of. So I feel I’d better share it with you guys here.

In face Yes Man has become one of the most popular films this year, more and more people watch it.

According to Wikipedia:

Yes Man is a 2008 American comedy film directed by Peyton Reed and starring Jim Carrey. The film is based on the true story and 2005 book Yes Man by British humourist Danny Wallace (who has a brief cameo in the film). Production began in Los Angeles, CA in October 20

The plot is not complicated, by it is meaningful. Let’s take a look at it.

Yes Man Plot:

Jim Carrey does wonders with a slight premise that finds his reserved, emotionally-distant character, Carl Allen, a banker who routinely turns down loan applications, accepting a challenge to open up to life by saying “yes” to everything. A man who constantly disappoints friends by weasling out of opportunities for bonding and happiness, Carl radically changes into a creature of complete spontaneity. By never saying no anymore, he gets into situations with unpredictable outcomes, such as driving a homeless stranger to a scary-looking park at night. But for the most part, whatever Carl says yes to becomes a road to worthwhile experiences, even receiving a promotion at work for approving hundreds of micro-loans against all policy. Zooey Deschanel, who often plays appealing kooks, is very good as Carl’s girlfriend, a free spirit who takes to his positivity about everything–for awhile, anyway. Director Peyton Reed (Down with Love) makes the most out of the gimmicky comedy, as does Carrey, who does wonders with scenes that are often left open-ended just to see what the brilliant comic will do with them. –Tom Keogh — Source: Amazon

See? I said it was simple, but if you watch with your heart, I’m sure you can learn useful from this film, especially if you have the similar experience.

Live in such a chaotic world, everything is a chaos, one place which can be peaceful is our hearts, so why not say “Yes” to everything, no matter you like it or you hate, just say “Yes” to it, you won’t lose anything, instead, your life would become better.

Cast:

I like Jim Carrey, he performed perfectly, I like most films he performed, they are classic.

One word can change everything. It’s quite true, this is what we can learn from this wonderful film, that word is “Yes”. Say “Yes” to life means embrace your life with a positive attitude. Believe it or not, life is a strange thing, if you treat it positively, it will treat you positively, then your life will be much better. In my personal opinion, I think life is just like a mirror, we perform in front of it.

Let’s take a look at what people say about this movie.

I saw this movie as a early showing and having gotten the tickets for free I said “what the heck, I’ll see anything for free”. So right off the bat I went in with low expectations. The previews made it look like the same old Jim Carrey Schtick. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

There was no ridiculous plot line (Liar Liar) or over the top characters (Ace Ventura) but a simple yet humorous story-line that is played to perfection by Carrey. There were plenty of good chuckles to be had and some down right laughs (and yes for those into it, a gross out scene that will make even this amazingly desensitized movie going generation cringe).

Overall, Yes Man is definitely worth the 10 bucks or so that movies are now ridiculously priced out now a days. But most definitely worth the trip if its free :-p

— Source: IMDb

…a pleasant surprise: a romantic comedy that is cute, amiable, and winning without being excessively tedious, saccharine, or gross.

Jim Carrey’s career has succumbed to painfully mediocre comedies and genre missteps for so long that “Yes Man” barely registers even as you’re watching it.

So what do you think about Yes Man? Have you watched it? If not, shame on you! My father’s pretty daughter and I highly wanna recommend you watching it.

My Date with the President’s Daughter has become a very popular film these days, you know, it’s a 1998 made movie, but now people talk much about it, it’s a little strange, right? Yeah, it is. But since it is so popular, we must talk about it here today.

According to Wikipedia:

My Date with the President’s Daughter is a 1998 made-for-TV comedy film produced by Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Walt Disney. It is about a free-spirited 16-year-old daughter of the American president who makes a date with a high school teenager named Duncan, then sneaks away from her Secret Service and has a wild night on the town.

In fact, the story is not so fresh, but it is very romantic, just think about it, the date with the president’s daughter, you can’t meet such good thing in your whole life, people love such kind of story, because they treat it as a wonderful dream, we like dreams, everything might happen in our dreams. I think this is why this film is loved by so many people.

This is the first year Obama to be the new president, I’m not sure whether there is any connection between the popularity of this movie and Obama. But the cruel is, Obama’s daughter is just a little girl, you can meet her like that way, can you?

Okay, let’s back to the film My Date with the President’s Daughter
.

“All poor Hallie Richmond wants is to be able to go on a normal date like every other teenage girl. Unfortunately, as the daughter of the U.S. president, she can never be treated as normal, and everywhere she goes she is followed by an obtrusive cadre of secret servicemen. Considered a bit of a nerd, Duncan too has trouble finding dates. He and Hallie hit it off but because it is an election year, the security around her is doubled. What choice do the young would-be lovers have but to sneak away so they can be alone? When they do, all heck breaks loose and a merry chase commences.” This is what New York Time commented about this movie.

Let’s take what others say about this film:

I liked this movie because it’s very entertaining with some jokes and funny scenes. No hard thoughts, no real dramas, no big tears, no bad emotions. It’s perfect if you want to spend some time without thinking and feel good after that. The main plot idea is promising and launching some fantasies – what if…?, but plot development and some twists are quite silly. Perfect for kids and not-nihilistic teens.

To learn more about this movie, you can visit IMDb.

So what do you think about My Date with the President’s Daughter?

As one of the best movies 2008, Slumdog Millionaire has reached a new peak in the film history, we have to say, this is a great movie. No wonder now people all over the world are watching it like crazy. So we have to talk about it here today!

According to Wikipedia:

Slumdog Millionaire is a 2008 British film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Simon Beaufoy, and co-directed in India by Loveleen Tandan. It is an adaptation of the novel Q & A (2005) by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup.

Set and filmed in India, Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Kaun Banega Crorepati, mentioned in the Hindi version) and exceeds people’s expectations, arousing the suspicions of the game show host and of law enforcement officials.

After its world premiere at Telluride Film Festival and subsequent screenings at the Toronto International Film Festival and the London Film Festival, Slumdog Millionaire initially had a limited North American release on 12 November 2008 by Fox Searchlight Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, to critical acclaim and awards success. It later had a nationwide grand release in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2009 and in the United States on 23 January 2009. It premiered in Mumbai on 22 January 2009.

Slumdog Millionaire was nominated for ten Academy Awards in 2009 and won eight, the most for any film of 2008, including Best Picture and Best Director. It also won five Critics’ Choice Awards, four Golden Globes, and seven BAFTA Awards, including Best Film. Slumdog Millionaire has stirred controversy concerning language use, its portrayals of Indians and Hinduism, and the welfare of its child actors.

From the introduction above you can easily see what a great file Slumdog Millionaire is. But these are cold words to describe the movie, we have to watch it ourselves and think about it if so we can feel how wonderful it is.

In fact, Slumdog Millionaire is not those kind of exciting movies, although it has some exciting plots, I don’t agree if you put it in exciting movie category. Just like any movies that won Academy Awards, this film is very meaningful. It successfully reflects the dark side of our society, the poverty of slums. This is a big and urgent problem that we should solve.

I think a meaningful movie is not about giving audience the exciting feeling, it’s about guiding them to think about something useful. A meaningful movie must be a successful movie. An exciting movie could be a successful movie, but it’s hard to be a meaningful movie.

I haven’t read Slumdog Millionaire Novel, but I’m sure it must be wonderful, just like this film. Maybe it could be a great masterpiece some day.

“Love and money… You have mixed them both“, this is the tagline of this film. Simple words, but mean a lot.

After watching this movie, I couldn’t help thinking, what is the duty of our society? To help the rich be richer ? Or to help the poor live better life? What the civilization is about? We have answer these questions carefully if we are still human beings.

So what do you think about Slumdog Millionaire (2008) Movie? What have you learned from it?

He is best known for playing Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of Twilight, based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer, and for the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

You see, this is Robert Pattinson, a very cool actor loved by thousands of sexy girls in the world.

You can also learn more about him on IMDb.

Some people also care about Robert Pattinson Girlfriend, okay, here is a gossip:According to news channel, Robert Pattinson confirmed that he has broken up all the relationships and dating with his ex-girlfriend Nina Schubert.

Now let’s talk about the movie Twilight.

According to Wikipedia:

<strong>Twilight is a 2008 American romantic-fantasy film directed by Catherine Hardwicke and based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. The film stars Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan, a teenage girl who falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen, portrayed by Robert Pattinson. The project was in development for approximately three years at Paramount Pictures before it was put into pre-production by Summit Entertainment. The novel was adapted for the screen by Melissa Rosenberg in late 2007, shortly before the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. The film was primarily shot in Washington and Oregon in early 2008. Twilight was released in theaters on November 21, 2008, and grossed $35.7 million on its opening day.

This is a wonderful movie, I love it very much, just like other people.

Its plot is not complicated, it’s about a teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire.

What I learned from this movie is “When you can live forever what do you live for?“. This is a very meaningful sentence, it guides me to think about many things about my life. This is also the tagline of this great movie.

People are dying everyday, it’s quite a normal thing, just like sun rises and sets, but Natasha Richardson’s death is not a normal thing, it’s not like the flower fades. Because Natasha Richardson is a famous movie star, famous people deserve famous death. But one thing I’m now thinking is people could be more famous because of their death. What a weird thing!

About Natasha Richardson Accident and Natasha Richardson Death, according to Washington Post:

By Adam Bernstein
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, March 19, 2009; B06

Tony Award-winning actress Natasha Richardson, 45, a member of a British acting dynasty, died March 18 from a head injury she suffered while skiing.

Ms. Richardson, a daughter of Academy Award-winning actress and human rights activist Vanessa Redgrave and the wife of actor Liam Neeson, fell on a beginners’ slope near Montreal during a ski lesson March 16. Ms. Richardson initially appeared uninjured, but an hour later, she complained of a headache. As her condition worsened, she was flown to a hospital near her home in New York City, where her family gathered.

Ms. Richardson’s father was producer Tony Richardson (“Tom Jones”). Her maternal grandparents were actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson. An aunt is actress Lynn Redgrave, with whom Ms. Richardson and her mother appeared in the 2005 Merchant Ivory film “The White Countess.”

Ms. Richardson might have been overshadowed by the public profiles of her family members, particularly her mother’s, but she was widely respected for the quality and versatility of her performances.

She won a Tony Award for the 1998 Broadway revival of the musical “Cabaret,” in which she played bohemian showgirl Sally Bowles, and she starred in a variety of film, TV and stage productions. She played Blanche Du Bois in Tennessee Williams’s “A Streetcar Named Desire” (2005) and appeared in Disney’s remake of “The Parent Trap” (1998).

As a young woman, Ms. Richardson was considered one of the most promising actresses of her generation and earned a reputation as a specialist in formidable dramatic parts. She received a Tony nomination and outstanding notices for her lead role as a woman with a dark past in a 1993 Broadway revival of the Eugene O’Neill waterfront story “Anna Christie.”

Director Paul Schrader, who cast Ms. Richardson in several movies, once noted how she “had an essential quality of mystery about her. You can watch her for the better part of two hours, and still think that she’ll show you something new.”

In addition to Schrader’s “Patty Hearst” (1988), in which she played the kidnapped heiress, and the psychological thriller “The Comfort of Strangers” (1990), Ms. Richardson starred in literary dramas including “A Month in the Country” (1987) with Colin Firth and “The Handmaid’s Tale” (1990) with Robert Duvall.

She made some attempts to raise her profile, appearing in “The Parent Trap,” with Lindsay Lohan, and in “Maid in Manhattan” (2002), portraying a frosty socialite opposite a hotel maid played by Jennifer Lopez.

Film scholar David Kipen said: “Richardson radiated intelligence in everything she did. She won raves for Shakespeare, Chekhov, O’Neill, Williams and Ibsen, and she could sing, besides. If the movies never knew quite what to do with her, that strikes me more as the medium’s fault than hers.”

Natasha Jane Richardson was born in London on May 11, 1963. She made her stage debut at 4, directed by her father while playing her mother’s bridesmaid in the movie “The Charge of the Light Brigade.” Her parents’ marriage ended about that time. Tony Richardson died of AIDS-related complications in 1991.

At 17, Ms. Richardson passed her audition at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama without revealing her true name. She debuted in London’s West End theater district as Nina in a 1985 revival of Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull” that starred her mother. It was a daunting way to start her professional career, but she later told the New York Times: “If you jump in at the deep end, you only have to swim to the shallow end. But if you jump in at the shallow end, the deep end seems awfully far away.”

During the show’s run, she began a relationship with “Seagull” producer Robert Fox, and they later married. She left him to marry Neeson, with whom she appeared in “Anna Christie.”

Survivors include Neeson and their two sons; her mother; and a sister, actress Joely Richardson.

Ms. Richardson’s early films included “Gothic” (1986), a sexually provocative drama directed by Ken Russell. She played the mistress of atomic scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer in “Fat Man and Little Boy” (1989) and a court-appointed psychiatrist in “Nell” (1994), starring Jodie Foster. She also portrayed the troubled Catharine in a TV version of Tennessee Williams’s “Suddenly, Last Summer” (1993) opposite Maggie Smith.

Traditionally drawn to dark-themed works, Ms. Richardson was perhaps an unusual choice to play Sally Bowles in “Cabaret,” a role popularized onscreen by Liza Minnelli.

But she said she saw the character as desperate, perhaps a future drug addict or someone who “moves to England in the end and has a desperately boring middle-class existence, which is a kind of death in itself.”

After Natasha Richardson Death, Natasha Richardson Movies become a very hot topic among movie fans like me. These days there millions of people searching for Natasha Richardson Movies, how amazing! Sure, as a actress and director, Natasha Richardson’s movies are very successful, this is why so many people like them, and this is why her death could be such a big event in the world.
