The MTV Movie Awards is a film awards show presented annually on MTV (Music Television). It also contains movie parodies that used official movie footage with hosts and other celebrities and music performances. The nominees are decided by a special panel at Tenth Planet Productions, the production company headed by Joel Gallen, who also created the MTV Movie Awards. Winners are decided by the general public. Presently voting is done through MTV’s official website through a special Movie Awards link.

News reports: Popular vampire thriller “Twilight” grabbed five golden popcorn statutes Sunday night at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards presented in Los Angeles.

“Twilight” dominates MTV movie awards with five trophies pointed out:” “Twilight,” which has grossed 382 million dollars worldwide, dominated the awards show, taking home top honors for best movie, best female performance for Kristen Stewart, breakthrough male performance for Robert Pattinson, and best kiss and best fight.”

‘Twilight’ Wins Big at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards pointed out:”The 2009 MTV Movie Awards was the place to be / watch last night, as not only did it mean rapper Eminem making his triumphant comeback on stage, but was also a true delight for all “Twilight” fans. Aside from the official “New Moon” trailer premiere, the awards ceremony also included plenty of “Twilight” moments, from heartthrob Robert Pattinson taking the stage and making some (reportedly awkward) jokes, to the first film in the franchise scooping five awards and thus becoming the biggest winner of the night.”

The only category “Twilight” lost was Best Song from a Movie, where Paramore’s “Decode” lost to tween queen Miley Cyrus and “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”

Disney’s “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” took home two golden popcorn buckets for Ashley Tisdale, who won Breakthrough Female Performance, and Zac Efron, who won Best Male Performance.
