You know, now the hottest new movie is Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which is been watching everywhere in the world. It was officially released on 1 July 2011. The plot is not complicated, it goes like this: When a mysterious event from Earth’s past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. The movie is directed by Michael Bay, who is one of my favorite directors.

Storyline: The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and to learn its secrets

The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, with John Malkovich and Frances McDormand.

You know what? Dark of the Moon was without a doubt the best film in the trilogy surpassing the loud but tedious 2nd film Revenge of the Fallen. Michael Bay really knows how to please the fans when he realizes he made some mistakes and if that means getting rid of racist twins or immature humor then so be it.

Critics from Rotten Tomatoes saying:

The more action sequences, locations, actors, historical events, machines, effects, monosyllables, weapons, and American-flag close-ups the movie shoves in its mouth and ours, the less we’re able to taste.

The biggest casualties in this third installment of the robot franchise from director Michael Bay are storytelling and character development.

Bay provides his usual Bayisms: bloated close-ups, manly slo-mo, visual hyperbole and glamour shots of a hot babe standing amid the wreckage.

The film tells the story of the relationship between a woman, Summer (Zooey Deschanel), who doesn’t believe in true love and a man, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), described as a hopeless romantic, who falls in love with her. Over a span of 500 days, the story moves in a non-linear fashion from the perspective of Tom, who goes from ecstatic giddiness one moment, indulging in a fantasy song and dance sequence at one point, to crippling depression the next. It features two songs (“Us” and “Hero”) by Regina Spektor, and “Sweet Disposition” by Melbourne-based band The Temper Trap.

Cool as a melty Creamsicle on a hot summer day and a sweet surprise in the middle of blockbuster season. Gordon-Levitt’s performance is as starmaking as John Cusack’s in the romcom opus, Say Anything.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, also known as Ice Age 3 , is a 2009 3-D computer animated film. It is the third installment of the Ice Age series. It was announced and approved by Fox president Hutch Parker on January 30, 2007. It was initially slated for a December 12, 2008 release, but the scheduled release date was moved to July 1, 2009. A sneak preview was shown in selected theaters on Father’s Day in the United States. The sub zero heroes are back. Scrat is still trying to nab the ever elusive nut, while maybe finding true love. Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth. Diego the saber toothed tiger wonders if he’s growing too soft and Sid the sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna, run amuck and meet a relentless, one eyed, dino-hunting weasel named Buck.

Ice Age 3 is wittier than Kung-Fu Panda, certainly as slick as Toy Story. The Ice Age franchise shows no signs of thawing out. Come on 4!

Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale), and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. No one could stop Dillinger. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone, from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard), to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression. Boasts solid performances by Johnny Depp and the radiant Marion Cotillard, but suffers from excessive style over substance. It often drags and lacks insight, palpable thrills along with dramatic tension.

The movie tangentially holds your interest, but could have been so much better if it had developed a rooting interest for one side or the other.
