Now a very popular old movie is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, many people are watching it and talking about it, so I think we should discuss it too today. So here we go.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a 2002 fantasy adventure film, and the second film in the popular Harry Potter series, based on the novel by J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The film was released on 15 November 2002 in the UK and North America and 28 November in AUS (exactly three weeks after the death of Richard Harris, who portrayed Albus Dumbledore in the first film). Returning to work on the film were director Chris Columbus, screenwriter Steven Kloves, and producer David Heyman.

Most of the major cast and crew from Philosopher’s Stone (also known as Sorcerer’s Stone) returned for Chamber of Secrets, including child stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. However, it was the last appearance by Richard Harris as Dumbledore (and also Harris’s last film) and the last Harry Potter film directed by Columbus. New key actors included Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart and Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy.

The Story:

Forced to spend his summer holidays with his muggle relations, Harry Potter gets a real shock when he gets a surprise visitor: Dobby the house-elf, who warns Harry Potter against returning to Hogwarts, for terrible things are going to happen. Harry decides to ignore Dobby’s warning and continues with his pre-arranged schedule. But at Hogwarts, strange and terrible things are indeed happening: Harry is suddenly hearing mysterious voices from inside the walls, muggle-born students are being attacked, and a message scrawled on the wall in blood puts everyone on his/her guard – “The Chamber Of Secrets Has Been Opened. Cast:

• Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter. Now entering his second year at Hogwarts, Harry faces the accusation that he is the Heir of Slytherin, and responsible for the attacks on fellow students.
• Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, one of Harry’s best friends. He takes his father’s flying car to Hogwarts, after he and Harry miss the Hogwarts Express.
• Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, one of Harry’s best friends. She investigates what is really the cause of the attacks on students, only to be petrified herself.
• Richard Harris as Albus Dumbledore, the Hogwarts headmaster and one of the greatest wizards of the age. He is removed from his position as the attacks increase. (This was to be Richard Harris’ final film.)
• Kenneth Branagh as Gilderoy Lockhart, the incredibly vain and famous Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. He is secretly completely useless, and faked all of his achievements.

Emma Watson is my favorite, this is the number reason I love this film. I love her movies.

The second film to spring forth from J.K. Rowling’s popular series of children’s books goes a long way towards amping up the dramatic tension promised by the source material.

It’s a depressing reality to face, but the second of J.K. Rowling’s boy-wizard books was the least interesting read… and hasn’t fared much better on film.

The franchise is safe! Columbus’ second alchemical movie ups the thrill quotient to satisfy the faithful. There’s more action, and it’s scarier.

I watched the film Alive last night, I feel it is very meaningful to all of us, so now I want to share it with you guys here.

Alive is a very old film produced in 1993, but its meaning is not old, its still fresh. We can learn how to survive from disaster like airplane crash. So let’s talk about it.

According to Wikipedia:

Alive is a 1993 film by the husband and wife team, director Frank Marshall and producer Kathleen Kennedy. It is based upon Piers Paul Read’s acclaimed 1974 book, Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors (which itself was based upon interviews with survivors of the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 on October 13, 1972).

One of the survivors, Nando Parrado, (portrayed by Ethan Hawke in the film) served as the technical advisor to the film. Alive is narrated by John Malkovich.

The story is very simple, but it is meaningful. Here it is: The film tells the story of a Uruguayan Rugby team (who were alumni of Stella Maris College (Montevideo)) and their friends and family who were involved in the aircraft crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 which crashed into the Andes mountains on October 13, 1972.

The film described how they try to survive in such a disaster. The most impressive scene is they didn’t have enough food, they ate human’s dead body. This is a very controversial question, should we eat? In my opinion, they did the right thing, they ate, I would eat if I was in the same situation.

Alive is a movie able to touch your heart (and your stomach) as it grimly displays the miraculous true story of survival in the Andes. Using relative unknowns at the time, Alive was able to manipulate the audiences into believing that the circumstances were actually happening. Yeah, this movie can touch your deep heart, you must react about it. This is its meaning.
