Drag Me to Hell (2009) Movie

Now a super popular movie is Drag Me to Hell, which is a new horror film loved by more and more people. Sure, it is very exciting, I’m sure you will be very scared, because I was when I was watching it, I was so scared that I thought the story was real. So I think this is a very successful film this year. Well, let’s discuss it now.

Wikipedia introduces Drag Me to Hell like this:

Drag Me to Hell is a 2009 American horror film written and directed by Sam Raimi and co-written by his older brother Ivan Raimi. It stars Alison Lohman, Justin Long and Lorna Raver. The film stands as a return to form for Raimi, who had previously earned acclaim for his cult horror series The Evil Dead, before reaching a wider audience with the Spider-Man films. The film circulates around Los Angeles loan officer Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) and her refusal to extend a loan for Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) in order to impress her boss. In retaliation, Ganush places a curse on Christine, making her life a living hell. The movie also pays a tribute to 1980s Universal horror films as it shows a vintage opening logo from the decade and the “Ask for Babs” Universal tour title card.

The story is very attractive, let’s take a look.

Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? What others said about this horror film? Let’s take a look.

Critic Reviews:

Boston Globe, Wesley Morris
“Raimi succeeds at giving literal moviemaking a good name, while providing diabolic catharsis for many a disgruntled homeowner.”

Chicago Tribune, Geoff Berkshire
“Sam Raimi’s return to horror is anything but a drag.”

Entertainment Weekly, Owen Gleiberman
“…a deftly unified freak show that keeps intensifying as its wormy-devil images keep spewing.”

Watcher Reviews:

Raimi can do more with a set of false teeth and a compelling, if deeply flawed, heroine that most horror hacks can with enough fake blood to flood the Great Basin.

A solid horror movie that features such big laughs, you come away wishing that most comedies were consistently as funny and as bright.

Stands as the latest in a line of occasional, much-needed reminders that the horror genre isn’t going completely downhill anytime soon.

Now it’s time to watch the trailer.
