My Date with the President’s Daughter has become a very popular film these days, you know, it’s a 1998 made movie, but now people talk much about it, it’s a little strange, right? Yeah, it is. But since it is so popular, we must talk about it here today.
According to Wikipedia:
My Date with the President’s Daughter is a 1998 made-for-TV comedy film produced by Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Walt Disney. It is about a free-spirited 16-year-old daughter of the American president who makes a date with a high school teenager named Duncan, then sneaks away from her Secret Service and has a wild night on the town.
In fact, the story is not so fresh, but it is very romantic, just think about it, the date with the president’s daughter, you can’t meet such good thing in your whole life, people love such kind of story, because they treat it as a wonderful dream, we like dreams, everything might happen in our dreams. I think this is why this film is loved by so many people.
This is the first year Obama to be the new president, I’m not sure whether there is any connection between the popularity of this movie and Obama. But the cruel is, Obama’s daughter is just a little girl, you can meet her like that way, can you?

I liked this movie because it’s very entertaining with some jokes and funny scenes. No hard thoughts, no real dramas, no big tears, no bad emotions. It’s perfect if you want to spend some time without thinking and feel good after that. The main plot idea is promising and launching some fantasies – what if…?, but plot development and some twists are quite silly. Perfect for kids and not-nihilistic teens.
