Guess what? Watchmen (2009) has become one of the most watched films! Now people are talking about this great film, especially the youth. So we are going to talk about here today since it is so hot.
What kind of movie Watchmen is? According to Wikipedia:
Watchmen is a 2009 neo-noir action sci-fi cult superhero film directed by Zack Snyder. Based on the 1986-1987 comic book limited series Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the film adaptation stars Malin Åkerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Carla Gugino, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Patrick Wilson. Set in an alternate-history 1985, Watchmen follows a group of former vigilantes as tensions heighten between the United States and the Soviet Union while an investigation of an apparent conspiracy against them uncovers something even more grandiose and sinister. The film began shooting in Vancouver in September 2007. As with his previous film 300, Snyder closely modeled his storyboards on the comic, but he chose to not shoot all of Watchmen using chroma key and opted for more sets.
The plot of this film is a little complicated, it is like this: When an ex-superhero is murdered, a vigilante named Rorschach begins an investigation into the murder, which begins to lead to a much more terrifying conclusion.
This plot is very attractive, I’m sure this is the main reason why so many people so good on this film.

Malin Åkerman as Laurie Jupiter / Silk Spectre
Patrick Wilson as Daniel Dreiberg / Nite Owl
Jackie Earle Haley as Walter Kovacs / Rorschach
Billy Crudup as Dr. Jon Osterman / Doctor Manhattan
Matthew Goode as Adrian Veidt / Ozymandias
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Edward Blake / The Comedian
Carla Gugino as Sally Jupiter / Silk Spectre
Let’s take a look at what other people say about Watchmen:
This movie definitely isn’t for everyone. People expecting another Dark Knight will be disappointed (or, as in my case, thrilled), as this movie is completely unique. People who want an action movie and don’t want all that talking and thinking will be disappointed. But to those looking for a long, complicated, deeply moving epic that will really make them think about the very concepts of right, wrong, and heroism (and who haven’t read the book, which apparently ruins it): Do NOT miss this movie!

I got a feeling that the film critics are going to have dozens of wheelbarrows of shit in front of them to throw at the screen. Film Critics are uber nerds just under food critics. Just as trekkies and comic fans and Anime fans have furries to bash and feel less like “Get a life” nerds, the elite film critics have to bash any comic movie to protect their position on the heap of trashy culture.
But even that isn’t the worst about abuse of this movie. Here’s what I think will happen;
Right wing nutjobs will be raving this film as some of Dubya’s ex-toadies from jail “Spill the beans” on 9/11. They’d say that it was justified because a few towers getting demolished was worth some fictional “Terrorists get nukes” scenario and then if there’s another “Convienent” attack like say Chicago getting nuked as John Bolton wants, just after Obama goes home be it 2012 or 2016, they’ll again spin that as somehow positive for their diseased worship of the corrupt rich elite.
Wired Blog has a very comprehensive review about this film, you can take a look at it. They do have some very unique views there.
